Senior Scala Engineer - Remote Europe

What will you do in this role?

You’ll develop and maintain modern, cloud-native microservices in Scala using functional programming and modern effect systems, deployed in AWS on Kubernetes. You’ll use ZIO, some Akka Streams, Kafka, and Elasticsearch, among other technologies.

This position is fully remote in European timezones. Either on employment or contract basis.

What we’re looking for

• At least 6 years of commercial software development experience.
• 3 years of experience developing and operating Scala services in production.
• Experience with functional programming and effect systems (ZIO, Cats Effect).
• Experience with deploying systems to Kubernetes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advantageous: experience working with Kafka Streams or Akka Streams; gRPC-based services; Elasticsearch.
