As a Scala Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our product development, working alongside experienced engineers to drive innovation and maintain the performance of the Zivver Backend. What you will do:
– Collaborate with the team in the design and implementation of projects;
– Develop new features and maintain the performance of the Zivver Backend platform;
– Participate in code reviews, suggest improvements, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and excellence;
– Apply best security practices, identify areas of vulnerabilities, and contribute to a security mindset;
– Identify edge cases that are not covered and suggest improvements in automation to ensure platform robustness and reliability;
– Collaborate with other teams to deliver high-quality solutions and participate in the technical design of product features;
– Enhance development tools and processes to streamline the development process and improve the development experience;
– Review production bugs, errors, and alerts, working with other engineers to fix them in a timely manner;
– Contribute to the stability, scalability, and usability of the Zivver platform;
– Participate in the Zivver Backend Guild, sharing your experience and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Expertise you’ll bring:
– 3+ years of experience in software development, with experience using Scala;
– Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience;.
– Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems;
– Knowledge of software development best practices, including testing, code review, and continuous integration;
– Experience with SQL (Postgres) is a plus;
– Familiarity with the ELK stack;
– Knowledge of Scala Type-level programming (e.g., cats/cats effect libs) is desirable;
– Familiarity with DevOps practices, including containerization, continuous integration/deployment, and monitoring;
– Familiarity with AWS and core services such as EC2 and S3 is a plus;
– Understanding of cloud infrastructure best practices is desirable.
