Senior or Lead Scala Backend Engineer - Remote

We’re looking for a Backend Engineers with Scala & Java experience to work remotely from UK, Germany, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary, Portugal or Lithuania. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Building new and enhancing existing systems - Revolut was founded in 2015, our codebase is young, modern and has tests.
• Work includes, but is not limited to: building APIs, developing microservices, evolving our architecture, and many many more. You build it, you run it!
• Our backend is written predominantly in Java 11. Unique about this role is a chance to work on our Scala codebase. • We have a minimalist approach to using external frameworks, with emphasis on maintainability and fast turnaround with TDD, DDD and Continuous Integration & Delivery.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Fluency in Scala and Java
• 5 years (or above) experience in back-end development
• Quick learner with an ambitious and results driven personality
• Work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Flexible working hours
• Fluency in English

ZIO, Monix, Cats, Akka-HTTP, Play, Doobie (Postgres), GKE. You will use both Scala & Java 50/50
