Software Engineer - OpenSearch

A leading observability platform is hiring a Software Engineer with experience in Rust & Scala to build and maintain cloud-native distributed systems. This is a unique opportunity to work with modern effect systems (ZIO, Cats Effect) while contributing to a platform that optimizes logs, metrics, traces, and security events—all while reducing operational costs by up to 70%.

Tech Stack You’ll Work With

• Languages: Scala (ZIO), Rust
• Infrastructure: Kafka, OpenSearch, Redis
• Cloud-native, microservices architecture

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and operate scalable, distributed systems in a production environment.
• Work on real-time observability solutions with OpenSearch & event-driven architectures.
• Collaborate on high-performance backend systems using Rust & functional Scala.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of software development experience
• Experience with JVM-based languages (Scala preferred)
• Strong background in distributed systems & microservices
• Passion for functional programming & TDD

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch
• Familiarity with ZIO, Cats Effect, or similar modern effect systems
