The Opportunity

As a Manifold software engineer you will employ modern data infrastructure, tools, and languages to help our customers transform the way they use data and scale their impact. You will work primarily on backend systems, pipelines, databases/data stores, cloud services, and infrastructure. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a world-class team of experienced engineers and product managers who have shipped widely-used technology products.

Our project teams are made up of engineers, program managers, designers, and product managers. We are highly collaborative, oriented towards building and learning, and keenly aware of the responsibility of helping our customers deploy software products for real end users.

What We’re Looking For:

We are seeking candidates with 5+ years of relevant, professional experience. However, experience does not always equal expertise so reach out if the majority of these bullets describe you:

• Minimum 2 years experience designing, developing, and optimizing Spark to process big data
• Fluent in compiled languages working with distributed data stores with a preference for Scala/Java
• Experience working with schema-based data storage, such as Parquet and Avro
• Familiarity with data lake table formats such as Hudi, Iceberg, or Delta
• Built and deployed both SQL and NoSQL database technologies, such as PostgresSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, CouchDB, ElasticSearch, or MongoDB
• Understands that at Manifold, mentorship is the natural companion to seniority and you know the value that comes from pausing your work to answer a question or provide guidance.
• You have previously owned a product through its lifecycle— from discovery to deployment.
