ScalaJobs A European energy-tech company building the orchestration layer between wholesale energy markets and thousands of distributed devices (EVs, home batteries, solar, heat pumps), aggregated into a virtual power plant that trades and dispatches like a single asset.
You'll build real-time, event-driven backend services in Scala/ZIO: device ingestion, control loops and forecasting pipelines running at grid scale. Small senior team, high autonomy, hands-on ownership including the infrastructure your services run on.
Stack
Scala 3, ZIO, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, GCP, Kubernetes, Kafka, Terraform
You'll need
- Strong commercial Scala, ideally ZIO (Typelevel background fine)
- Distributed, event-driven or streaming systems experience
- Hands-on infra/DevOps: GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform
- Comfortable working autonomously on a small team
Nice to have: energy, IoT, control systems or time-series data experience.
