Software Engineer (Scala/Akka)

It is the Pathfinder Group’s goal to streamline our streamline operational processes for financial institutions through the use of our software. To accomplish this, we are looking to hire a developer who is innovative with careful attention to detail. With that in mind, we are looking for a highly intelligent, passionate, self-driven technologist to join our team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver a high quality end product that is usable, performant, maintainable and secure.
• Work closely with Pathfinder Group’s business leadership to understand business requirements and translate them into the working features.
• Collaborate with support team to provide resolution for complex customer production issues.
• Be a flexible, forward-thinking team player.

Skills and Qualifications

• A university degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 2 years of industry experience working experience in developer role.
• Experience building reactive applications with Scala and Akka.
• Experience with Event Sourcing is a plus.
• Full stack perspective and breadth of view.
• Testing and automation mindset.
• Good understanding of Cloud based deployments (Azure, AWS or equivalent) is a plus.
• Good knowledge of Docker is a plus.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus.
