We’re building the financial membership of the future. Starting with a credit card that has fun and experiences at its core, we’re the antithesis to your dad’s stuffy, corporate, boring credit card.

Whilst tech is revolutionising the finance industry, credit is still stuck in the stone ages. We want to create a world where financial services are fair and conscious, and the stress of debt is eliminated for everyone.

With £20m in seed investment, we’re backed by the best European Seed and Series A investors, early backers of Spotify, Wise, Figma, Revolut and Klarna.

Sounds cool. How can I contribute?

We're looking for a talented backend developer to join our engineering team to help us on the journey of creating a world where financial services are fair and conscious, and the stress of debt is eliminated for everyone. From the get-go you'll be designing, building and deploying mission critical services that power everything from what happens when a member taps their card, the core banking engine that bills our members through to our unique approach to credit card rewards.

You'll be joining a small engineering team with end-to-end ownership over the development lifecycle, system architecture and infrastructure. As an early member of the team, you'll be making decisions that shape the future of engineering at Yonder. You’ll wear many hats, spending time building new micro-services to maintaining the infrastructure that they all run on.

If you're considering applying and have any questions about the role, feel free to reach out to [email protected] for a chat.

What you'll do

  • Collaboratively design, build and iterate on the architecture for a modern credit card, core banking and rewards system
  • Build and deploy the backend systems, working closely with other engineers to define how the product works
  • Support the design, build and deployment of the cloud infrastructure that the backend systems run on
  • Work closely with the product and design teams to build the best experiences for our members
  • Own the entire development lifecycle, from defining stories to verifying the changes in test and shipping to production

You'll be a great fit if you

  • Have experience building production ready services.
  • Have experience building RESTful APIs
  • Have experience with Kafka or other event-driven systems
  • Care deeply about solving customer problems, instead of focusing on the specific technologies to do so
  • Thrive in environments of ambiguity and love setting your own direction
  • Have experience with a wide variety of database systems

Compensation

  • £65,000 - £85,000 annual salary, with ~£56,000 in stock options
