Fullstack Software Engineer – Scala & AI-Powered Development

About NuMind

NuMind is a YC-backed AI startup building LLMs for information extraction. We develop nuextract.ai, a platform that helps companies extract structured information from documents at scale. We are a 10-person team, well funded, and based at Station F in Paris.

The role

We are looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to help build and improve nuextract.ai.

This is a hands-on fullstack role for an engineer who cares about product and UX, and also about writing clean, well-architected software across the stack, with AI tools as a core part of modern development.

You will:

• Build front-end and back-end features across the stack in a statically typed functional language (Scala)
• Contribute to product design and user experience across the platform
• Help shape architecture and technical decisions to ship robust, elegant features
• Use AI tools as part of your daily development workflow and help us improve how we build software with them

We are looking for someone autonomous, thoughtful, collaborative, and excited to use AI tools seriously in day-to-day software development. We want someone who works well in a team, takes pride in their work, and enjoys building high-quality software with others.

Qualifications

• Master's-level engineering degree (Bac +5) or equivalent
• Very strong spoken and written English; everyday spoken French or willingness to learn
• Solid foundations in software engineering, including computer science, algorithms, and either experience with functional programming or a genuine desire to learn it
• Strong interest in AI-assisted software development, with hands-on use of tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools, or a clear willingness to adopt them quickly

Tech stack

Both front-end and back-end are in Scala, which lets us share code across the stack and benefit from a strongly typed functional language that works especially well with AI-assisted development tools.

Practical details

• Dedicated office at Station F (Paris 13)
• Partially remote, with 3 days on-site
• Salary: €45k–75k + stock options
• Permanent contract (CDI) with RTT

One initial qualifying video call, then three interviews, including at least one on-site, with our CEO, CTO, and lead engineer.
