Scala Backend Developer

We are looking for an experienced Backend developer to work on our location data intelligence platform and 3D positioning engine.

This is a full-time job.

GeoMoby is a Perth-based startup specialised in advanced location data intelligence solutions. GeoMoby has developed a suite of patented, feature rich, cloud solutions changing the way businesses make decisions and reach people.

With more visibility from rich insights gleaned from our all-in-one contextual data, analytics & geofencing technology, GeoMoby focuses on solving real world problems in several industries from mining to insurance, reducing inefficiencies, providing better reach to end-users, improving the bottom line and building better and safer organisations.

Following best practices in place, you will be working collaboratively with your teammates and colleagues. You will be part of an international team with great work culture, with great offices, great package and flexible working hours.

You would need to clearly demonstrate the following capabilities:

• Expert-level ability in at least one of those languages: Java, Scala, Rust, or Haskell.
• Experience with the TypeLevel suite, including Cats, Cats-Effect, FS2, and Doobie.
• Comfortable developing with multiple languages in the above list.
• Comfortable developing with modern front-end frameworks (ReactJS, Typescript).
• Experience using Functional Programming techniques (or an open mind, if your expert-level language is not a functional one).
• Professional, responsible and capable of working independently as part of an international team.
• A degree-level qualification in Computer Science and/or Science/Mathematics/Engineering with professional software industry experience.

Extra credit for one or more of the following skills:

• Advanced DevOps abilities (CICD, Container Orchestration, Dockers, Kubernetes)
• Advanced AWS abilities
